SID JUWARKER


Biography


Sid Juwarker was born in Mumbai, India, and moved to Des Moines, Iowa, where he has lived for 22 years.  Sid is an engineer with a personality, so he decided to also be a brown comedian in Iowa to further the trend of being an anomaly. Sid fuels his creative passion by performing stand-up and improvised comedy all over Des Moines and the Midwest. He performed at Beast Village and Floodwater comedy festivals, featured/headlined as well as produced multiple standup comedy shows in Des Moines (Off The Rails, No Sleep) and is a regular host/feature at the Funny Bone Comedy Club in West Des Moines.  Sid recently performed at in Chicago’s Under The Gun Theater at Lincoln Lodge, the nation’s longest running independent comedy showcase.  Sid is also an improv cast member of the Last Laugh Comedy Theater and was part of Chowdown a monthly long form improv show at the Des Moines Social Club.  Sid is currently working on opening a comedy club in Des Moines called Teehee’s Comedy Club which will feature local improv and standup comedic talent. Sid’s passion for comedy is only matched by his passionate dislike for blue cheese.

Sid has also written and appeared in multiple short films for which he won Des Moines 48 Hour Film Project Best Actor in 2016’s film “Simply Love”, as well as appeared and produced the 2017 Des Moines 48 Hour Film Project Best of City winner “The Stepfather” which won an award at Filmapalooza in Paris.
